The Beginning

What a blur the first six months of 2026 have been.

There have been many highs, many lows, and more moments of uncertainty than I can count. Yet somehow, here I am, writing the words: J. Elaine Studio is officially a business.

What began as an idea in my head after a late-night serving shift is now recognized by the state of Florida as a Limited Liability Company. Even writing that feels surreal.

I've been trying to put into words what this milestone means to me, and I think the strongest feeling is pride.

Not because I've reached some pinnacle of success, at least not by society's standards, but because I trusted myself enough to begin.

I stopped waiting for permission.

I stopped telling myself no before the world had the chance to.

I simply decided to try.

There is something incredibly empowering about discovering that the life you've been imagining isn't reserved for someone else. It's built one decision at a time, often before you have all the answers.

This is only the beginning, and I have so much left to learn. But today I'm taking a moment to celebrate how far I've come, and to remind myself that sometimes the hardest step is simply believing you're allowed to begin.

With love from the studio,
Jill
